There are simple steps to protect your Facebook profile from being hacked. Firstly, go to Security and Login in your settings. You can check here other places/computers that are currently logged into your Facebook Cybersafety account. You should only be logged into your computer and phone. Log out of every other location.- Turn on two-factor authentication.
- Change your password.
- Turn on alerts for unrecognised logins.
- Change your password regularly.
- Do not accept Facebook friend invitations from strangers, even contacts of friends.
- Don’t take quizzes – they could be collecting possible password choices for other online activities.
- Get creative with passwords. Don’t use the same password for anything requiring a password – (use an reputable password storage ap to help you generate and record passwords)
